Weekend Strikers

I was able to get an 11th tee time. We now have one spot left and it's a choice tee time, group 3 at 1036. Who's ready to win the final tournament and major of the year?! The FedEx Championship will be this Saturday at Enagic GC out in Eastlake, Pay Jeff Lim your $100 green fees +$20 side bets ASAP! Club is subsidizing and paid $9 for each green fee (normally $109/golfer).

The after tournament awards and bbq will be hosted by our very own Ray Ricario. Flyer with directions to his house and where to park are attached (basically park on Masters Ridge Rd, his address: 2456 La Costa Ave, Chula Vista). Hope to see you all there (even if you aren't playing in the tournament, swing by and enjoy some of Ray's bbq and a nice cold one courtesy of the WSGC!

The FedEx pairings are done in reverse order of your current standing in order for the final group to be the top 4 players with the highest FedEx points finishing last. I did that for the top 20 players, everyone after that will need some miraculous finishes and help from several golfers to have a chance (but according to our statistician, Ray Ricario, there are over 30 players that are mathematically possible to still win). I also made that decision based on speed of play with 7 minute intervals on the tee times and not having a group slow down the entire tournament.

As with every major, putt everything out but please play READY GOLF. No one wants to play a 5 hour round. Keep up with the group ahead of you, order from the beverage cart after you hit, check your texts and college football scores as you are driving to the next tee box, finish your pre-shot routines early and be mindful of your pace of play. You get it.

I failed to mention in my GC of California email but our next President, Rob Hemby, shot an eagle on hole #1! He had a great drive and from 135 yds out, knocked his second shot on to the green and rolled it in for a 2 on the scorecard and took the $380 eagle pot. Nice job Rob and must be karma for stepping up to be our next President!
